What I learnt about Email Etiquette?

In Grade 6, in IT, we learnt about Email Etiquette.

Email Etiquette is basically how to email a teacher probably. There are five steps for Email Etiquette:

1. Use a salutation
2. Give a specific subject
3. Keep it to the point
4. Be professional
5. Sign and proofead

I learnt that when you email a adult you mustn't use slang , ALL CAPS or Texting language.
I also learnt that you must be careful who you talk to on social media and what info you give to the person you are talking to, because they could find out how old are you, where you live and what school you go to. Be careful when you are talking to someone on social media a use Email Etiquette when you are talking to an adult.

Wonderful Wonder

In grade 6 we read a book called "Wonder". I think that teenagers should read "Wonder" because the book is so beautiful and it just shows that you must choose kind and that everyone is special even if you're physically different.


* What stood out for me in the book, was that Auggie, a middle-school child who has a facial deformity, went to a school where he was the only one who had a facial deformity. He was scared to go to school because he was scared if the kids at the school would make fun of him. But he made quite a few friends and was starting to fit in. So what stood out for me was that if you look different to others then don't be afraid.

* I think the story has changed me to be a nicer person and to be there for people MORE, and even if you look different to others your still the same.


* The character i would identify with is Auggie, because Auggie looks different to others and when i was born, I had a lazy eye and felt different to others, mine is not as big as Auggie's  but i still felt different and scared of what people would say about it, but i have friends to back me up if someone makes fun of my lazy eye like Auggie does.



The last thing that i want say is, Choose kind, be there for someone who is been bullied, help them out, and most of all if your planning to say something nasty to someone, JUST DON'T.

Ice Blaster

1. The stop-motion project is about Superheros and Villeins.
2. We created our character because we were inspired by Killer Frost in the Flash.
3. I wouldn't change anything about my character.
4. The highlight of this project was that I got closer with partner to being really good friends, that we made an awesome superhero.
5. My frustrations were that we weren't going to finish, BUT WE DID.

Digital Citizenship with Grade 4's

Last week Wednesday I  went to the Grade 4 class, the Guinea Fowls. We talked to them about Digital Citizenship.

why do we need to be careful when using IM ?

We need to be careful with texting because our friends might not understand the way we said something on messages or any social media. Other people that we dont know might twext us or call us and lie about themselves. SO BE CAREFUL.

What is tone ?

Tone is very important because it helps the people understand the way you say something. But they cant hear that,  SO BE CAREFUL

What is facial expressions ? 

It is when people read your face to understand the way you say something but on messages they cant see that. SO BE CAREFUL.

Goals and Dreams

My dreams and goals for 2017


Hi my name is Jessica and i'm going to blog about my dreams and goals. I have quite a few goals, 1 of my goals in to get 75 percent or more for my subjects. I am a dancer so my goal for being a dancer is to do right leg splits and to kick my leg up to me head from behind. I want to be an amazing surfer, because i love to surf.  1 of my dreams or goals for 2017 is to back to France in the holidays and eat snails. My goal is also to be an amazing swimmer because i love to swim. 1 of my dreams is to  help a charity for animals or children who cant go to school or give the animals in the shelter food, blankets and a home. My other dream is to speak French. I would like do well in school.  My biggest dream is to meet Lilly Million , who is a singer who sings about God.

My simile poem

So I did a simile poem about dancing because I do dancing and I love it,so I decieded to do a simile poem about dancing.

My simile poem has five lines and most of it rhymes. I love the way I wrote it because it's mostly about me and dance and it shows how strong and joyful and loving l am for dancing.When I dance I feel like dancing and I connect, I feel safe and powerful, flexible and when I'm done I feel like a professional dancer. Hippo Diary

So my parents said that I can keep the hippo but only if I clean up the droppings and give it food and clean it's home ( our old shed). Things aren't  going so well in my house and with my parents, the hippo is coming in and lying on my parents bed and is eating the food and is doing business in the house. My dad really wants this hippo to go,but my mom is still giving it a chance.

I am really worried if dad is going to get rid of the hippo because Shelly 'the hippo' is really kind and is my only true friend. I said to my dad" Dad please don't send it away because he is my only true friend" but my dad always says "NO" and I tried that many times. I told my mom and she so agrees so she said " I will try to convince  dad  that we can keep it for a little longer" so then I was really happy then. Shelly is quite big and is stinky and does kind of eat the food and did break my parents bed,but what can possibly go wrong with trying to make my dad say yes that we can keep it a little bit longer. My dad is a really kind sweetheart loving human so of corse he will say yes,right?

Remember I said my dad will say yes well turns out not he said" No ways. We are not going to keep it any longer because she  ruined my meeting and she broke my bed so definitely not". I was really upset I was crying and crying but then my mom came and said" Don't worry sweetheart I will try really hard  to convince dad to keep Shelly a bit longer but it will take a bit of time" but what my mom said wasn't helping at all because my dad said that he is sending Shelly of in 3 days, but my mom never knew. While we were eating supper Shelly came and started eating my dads food, he was not happy. You could see my dad was about to shout and was wanting to get rid of the hippo badly but before my dad said anything my mom told him to calm down. After supper I went outside and played with Shelly, she is so kind and playful and cuddly that while I was playing with her I was really sad deep down inside. If only my dad saw that she is not such a bad,gross, fat,heavy hippo. After a hour with playing with Shelly it was time for me to go to sleep.

Today after I came back from school I saw Shelly cruising in the pool she looked like she was having fun so I asked my mom can I swim with her just for a bit because dad was coming home late. After a hour in the pool I decided to get out and do some homework then when dad came home he checked to see if the hippo was in the house then he went to see if he was outside and guess what he was lying on the grass. My dad was for once smiling I don't know if he had a good day at work or he was just smiling because of Shelly. I asked dad," dad are you ok" and he said ," yes I am thank you. I am just so happy with what Shelly is doing, she never broke anything and she did not do any business in the house. I am really impressed"My mom and I were really shocked but then it got to me what if dad was maybe thinking of keeping the hippo for a little longer so I decided to ask him," dad are you  thinking of keeping the hippo a bit longer because if you are that is really great, please dad please" I asked him and then he said, " sure thing my pumpkin" and I was never happier in my entire life.
